This weekend two of the most successful European clubs in Liverpool and Real Madrid will face off to see who will be crowned victorious once again at the UEFA Champions League final in Paris. The final will see football fans across Europe and the world, bristling with anticipation over which of these clubs will take the trophy home.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking to complete a historic treble after their FA Cup win against Chelsea. Pundits have noted their strong forward line, with top-scoring Mo Salah and Sadio Mané, who scored his 100th goal last year, upfront. No less formidable, the 13-time winner of the European Cup and recent La Liga Champions Real Madrid may use similar tactics in the stalemate seen by Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
This season, Carlo Ancelotti’s side has seen some great individual performances from Karim Benzema and Luka Modric. Croatian Modric might be heading into his late thirties, however, it has made him no less of a reliable player. The pairing of Benzema and Brazilian winger Vinicius has also been one to watch this season, putting away 17 goals and 13 assists in 46 games.
The question on everyone’s lips is, with these two powerhouses going up against each other. Who will come out on top?
