We’re getting ready for the festive season (yes we know, but we love Christmas at First Step PE), so we are offering a new Festive Enrichment programme. For most children, stuck somewhere between school and home, there has been little in the way of consistency. With new figures from The Children’s Society annual report, putting wellbeing firmly in the negative, we want to do our bit to spread a little cheer.
Our festive enrichment morning includes activities that are centered around wellbeing and health for children and is fit for whole school involvement. Based on the LivWell programme, developed by Adam Shakesheave and Caroline Siddel in 2008, the program is designed to support the curriculum by empowering children.
First Step PE mornings include opportunities for children to celebrate the magical run-up to the festive bells, lights and good cheer with a range of movement-based activities. LivWell curriculum support is focused on creating calmer-centered children resulting in them being more alert and ready to learn as well as managing stress more effectively. We facilitate a course of strategies that will equip them with the tools they need to become the best version of themselves whilst having fun and being physically active.
We’ll be holding our morning range of activities including Festive Yoga and Zumba, a polar express dance (not including the chilly temperatures). There will also be an opportunity for saving Christmas from a mysterious figure, clad in green and fur… any guesses?
We’re looking forward to bringing festive mornings to all your pupils! Get your skates on and chat with your team about your preferred dates now.
