afPE Accredited Support Programme in Primary PE and School Sport

January 14, 2018

First Step Physical Education are excited to share our brand new CPD programme with you, called PECS (PE Curriculum Support)!

As the only programme of its kind to be accredited with the prestigious afPE professional development kitemark, it gives schools a reliable way to use their premium to create sustainable results and easily evidence those results to Ofsted.

The PECS programme focuses on the professional development of your staff and helps you to effectively and sustainably improve the quality of Physical Education lessons in your school.  Our aim is to help your staff deliver outstanding PE lessons which in turn increases their job satisfaction and improves the experience for your pupils.

(PECS) PE Curriculum Support is a bespoke mentoring programme which supplies your staff with the tools and strategies they need to improve their confidence and delivery. It also offers advanced benefits;

  • Impact reports provided
  • Improving the quality of PE in a sustainable way
  • On-site delivery
  • Skilling up staff in real time and in their own surroundings
  • Improving staff confidence while developing a better understanding of their pupil’s abilities
  • Learning and development folders provided

In addition, you do not have to find cover for them and your pupils are receiving high quality PE while the teacher’s skills are being developed. The programme lasts 6-12 weeks but the best results are achieved if it is run over a full academic year.

Did you know that the PE and School Sport Premium is being doubled until 2020?

With the increase coming into force in 2017, we anticipate that Ofsted will strengthen their monitoring of how you are spending your premium.

Is your school prepared for that?
